The ThinkCar ThinkScan HD is a 5-inch Android-based diagnostic scanner built for Class 4 through Class 8 trucks, buses, and medium-duty commercial vehicles. It reads and clears fault codes, streams live engine and chassis data, and runs special functions on diesel powertrains across more than 31 commercial vehicle brands. The ThinkScan HD covers North American, European, and Asian truck and bus platforms. Typical coverage includes Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Volvo Trucks, Mack, PACCAR (Kenworth and Peterbilt), Freightliner, International (Navistar), Hino, Isuzu, Fuso, CAT on-highway, Allison transmissions, Bendix and Wabco brake systems, and additional bus and chassis manufacturers. Connectors and Protocols
The kit includes a DB15 diagnostic cable plus three heavy-duty adapters:
- Type II OBD-9 (Deutsch 9-pin) for J1939 and J1708/J1587 trucks
- OBD-6 (Deutsch 6-pin) for older J1708/J1587 equipment
- CAT-9 adapter for Caterpillar on-highway and industrial engines
This connector set covers the diagnostic ports found on the vast majority of medium and heavy trucks, school and transit buses, and CAT-powered chassis built from the early 1990s to current model years.
